Scott Willis has performed a variety of repertoire in concert and on stages throughout Tennessee, the southeastern region and beyond. Upcoming engagements include the world premiere of Tim Hinck’s Give Me Room! with Opera Tennessee as well as baritone soloist in Mozart’s Requiem. Recent engagements include Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana with Opera Tennessee, Riff in West Side Story, Somnus in Semele, David in A Hand of Bridge, and Marquis de la Force in Dialogues des Carmélites.
In 2016, he was a young artist with the Druid City Opera Workshop in Alabama and in 2017, he was a young artist with Harrower Opera Workshop in Atlanta, GA. Concert credits include baritone soloists in Brahms’s Eines Deutsches Requiem with East Tennessee Symphony Orchestra, baritone soloist at the Spoleto Festival in Mozart’s Organ Solo Mass, Messiah and Bach’s Magnificat at MTSU, as well as baritone soloist in Bach’s B Minor Mass with the Nashville Symphony.
Scott received his Bachelors of Music from Middle Tennessee State University, Masters of Music from East Carolina University, and Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree from the University of Alabama. He currently serves on the voice faculty and as Director of Opera at Berry College in Rome, Georgia and is the music director at Northside Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga, TN.
